Total Motion Release (TMR)
Premier physical therapy technique used by Dr. Kimberly Roach, DPT to treat Torticollis and other muscular asymmetries. TMR is a “no tears” therapeutic approach to releasing the fascial restrictions primarily responsible for Torticollis and achieving full active range of motion faster! No stretching!
The TMR Approach
Total Motion Release (TMR) is a therapeutic technique that trained therapists use to release fascial restrictions in the trunk that are the cause of Torticollis and other muscular asymmetries. The therapist uses a series of movements during the first assessment, as well as at the beginning of each session, and prioritizes what needs to be released first, second, etc. The TMR technique uses releases towards the position of easy rather than stretching because babies and children don’t often understand to relax to allow elongation of the tissues and will tense up or guard instead. The trained therapist then provides interventions based on those findings and coaches parents/caregivers on exercises to do at home between sessions. The real heros are the parents/caregivers! Progress is seen within the first session nearly every time!
Your child needs this!
Total Motion Release really works, and works fast to relieve muscular imbalances that lead to developmental delays , plagiocephaly (misshapen cranium), and inhibited functional skills.
